Intel And Facebook Works Together For New AI Chip Called Nervana

Intel recently announced   a new family of chips designed especially for artificial intelligence  in WSJDLive global technology conference.  AI  will be transformative to the industry and world .

AI is used to take good photos, translating languages, recognizing your friends on Facebook, delivering search results called neural networks works like a human brain.

Tech companies Facebook,Google, Apple, Qualcomm  has already started projects on AI. Intel  says why can't we? Let's start AI. Intel uses Nervana Neural Network Processor (NNP) with  high-capacity, high-speed, and high-Bandwidth memory which will provide the maximum level of on-chip storage and a hyper-fast access to memory.

Intel took the help from Facebook regarding Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence."We are thrilled to have Facebook in close collaboration sharing its technical insights as we bring this new generation of AI hardware to market" says  Intel CEO Brian Krzanich.

We have multiple generations of Intel Nervana NNP products in the pipeline that will deliver higher performance and enable new levels of scalability for AI models said by  Naveen Rao, the CEO and co-founder of Nervana.

"We have a goal by 2020 to be 100 times better than the best AI systems out there today using this neural processing," Krzanich said at the Wall Street Journal D.Live conference.

"Intel is one of the largest manufacturers in the world. We produce about a million chips a day. For each one of those million chips, we take about 1.6 million pictures as it progresses through the production line," he said. When there's a defect, "We now use AI ... to go through those 1.6 million images. What used to take three weeks now takes a couple hours."
