Google is Investigating Screen Burn-in issues in Pixel 2 Phones

                         Android Central has disclosed  that their Pixel 2 XL review unit is having screen burn-in issues. The new smart phone Pixel 2 was  released on October 4 abandon  the headphone jack.

Alex Dobie  tweets  view of the Pixel 2 screen burn-in on Twitter. The website points out that the screen burn-in is visible when a grey image is viewed, forming a ghost image of the home, back, and the recent application button. The Verge also pointed out same issue with their 2nd-generation  Google Pixel review unit.

This screen burn - in issues is in   the case of OLED and POLED screens. The traces of an image are eye catching  on the screen even after it’s gone; for the moment , the next one appears. Yet , it could also be the case of image retention, mostly alike  to LCD screen.


“The Pixel 2 XL screen has been formed with an advanced POLED technology, along with QHD+ resolution, wide color gamut, and high contrast ratio for natural and charming colors and analysis. We put all of our products through huge  quality testing before launch and in the manufacturing of every unit. We are actively inspecting  this report.”
