The world's largest manufacturer of ARM processors Qualcomm is apparently working on a new SoC for the lower mid-class, which is to follow the chips from the Snapdragon 400 series currently used in this sector. It is probably the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450, internally called SDM450 .
According to Winfuture.de, Qualcomm could soon introduce the Snapdragon 450 as an alternative to the recently introduced Snapdragon 630 processor. Qualcomm's Snapdragon 600 series is based on the 14nm architecture making it more power efficient than the Snapdragon 400 series, which is based on the 28nm architecture.
The Snapdragon 450 – internally coded SDM450, which also signals a change in Qualcomm’s more common “MSMxxxx” naming convention – is more related to the Snapdragon 625/626 than it is to the 400 series .The clock rates is upto 2.02 and 2.2 GHz and it has very high efficiency . The SDM450 is probably a stripped - down variant , The advantage is with low power consumption .
There is no information yet to price ranges for devices as there isn’t even a formal announcement for the Snapdragon 450 yet, and no information on when it will be available in the market.
