                             Google CEO Sundar Pichai  announces new technology called Google Lens . Google Lens is the intelligent camera app that can actually read, understand and interact with the information within your photos.


The same technology can then be used for a number of interesting applications. For example, a picture taken with your phone in poor lighting conditions can be analyzed by Google's systems and automatically adjusted to add a lot of the detail and color that was initially missing based on its pre-existing data on how a specific object should look like.

During a demo, Google showed off how you could point your camera at something and Lens tells you what it is — like, it could identify the flower you’re preparing to shoot.

He demonstrated Lens capabilities by showing how it could recognize a specific flower by using a phone's camera. Google Assistant then offered follow-up actions, like pointing you to the nearest florist.

Google’s Photo app now has 500 million users, its secret sauce being the use of machine learning to sort through your pictures and understand what they contain - such as seeing a birthday cake and grouping pictures from the same day as “birthday party”.

How does it work?

Let's take an Example 1 : Flower.

Phone camera is pointed at a Flower with google Assistant and we can tell what type of flower it is ? Where it is available ?

During the demo, a phone's camera was pointed at a WiFi router's password label and WiFi network name, and Google Assistant automatically connected the phone to that WiFi network.

Example 3 : It  was a photo of a business’s storefront — and Google Lens could pull up the name, rating and other business listing information in a card that appeared over the photo.

He also said that we can increase the quality of the image . Another  example is  that we can also removes the obstacles in the image and increase the clarity using image recognition.
