Can We Make Calls From A Free Battery Phone ?

                     We generally always try to call to our loved ones . Suddenly we don't  have charging in our phone and our battery is too low and cannot continue a call . What should we do ? We ask somebody phone to continue calling  or We will keep charging to our phone . A solution to this problem is we can make a call without Battery . Is it intresting ?  How is it Possible?

             

"Hello, hello. I am calling from a battery-free phone." Vamsi Talla's words in a cluttered lab at the University of Washington in Seattle are barely audible through pops and static . Because Talla's own cell phone has no battery at all. It draws what little power it needs from thin air.

"If you had to pick one device to make battery-free, what would you pick," asks Smith. "A cell phone is one of the most useful objects there is. Now imagine if your battery ran out and you could still send texts and make calls."

The device uses a technique called backscatter. It basically uses the radio waves that already move around us to communicate. This device is still in its infant stages, but the team was able to successfully demonstrate a voice call from a battery-less phone to an Android smartphone.

As Wired said, this phone has a basic touch-sensitive number pad. Display? A little red LED that glows briefly when a key is pressed.".

Converting analog human speech to digital signals consumes a lot of power," research associate Vamsi Talla, who worked on the prototype, told Wired. "If you can communicate using analog technology, you're actually more power efficient" . "Real cell towers have a hundred times as much power, and would increase the range to perhaps a kilometer," added Talla.

This device is still in its infant stages. IFLScience's Alfredo Carpineti wrote, "The team is now working to improve the call quality and how the call happens. Currently, it works like a walky-talky, so you press a button to switch from speaking to listening.

 Talla promises better call quality and an E-Ink display for text messages on the next generation device, possibly along with a camera to snap selfies. Smith says that even as the prototype stands, built from off-the-shelf components, it is much cheaper than a normal phone.
