Pi Is The World’s First Wireless And Contactless Charger

                         Wireless Charging allows you free from wire.  But you should keep your phone in flat surface. The Pi  is  the world’s first truly wireless and contactless charger, it doesn’t require users to place their devices on it. In fact, given it’s conical shape, you really can’t anyway. 

Imagine being able to simply put down your phone or tablet, in any position, and have it charged. The problem is that power isn’t easily transmitted over the air. Charging devices require small amount of power.

The device uses the same Qi charging technology – based on resonant inductive coupling. Pi adds contactless charging capabilities by aligning its magnetic field with your device using a patented technology. Yes, you’ll need to use a case with the matching resonant receiver.

Pi uses magnetic fields instead of the expected microwave, ultrasound, or laser media it send good amount of power to charge without affecting the device.It changes the angle of magnetic fields so that they reach your device, no matter how you place it nearby.

The Pi charger itself comes in the form of a large cone with its top chopped off. It occupies more space than charging pad. And while you’re free to put down your phone or tablet in any angle or position, it has to be within one feet of the cone. 

“The hard part was figuring out how to make magnetic charging more flexible, multi-device, and extend its useful range. It took us over a year to complete the mathematical proof that makes it all possible,” said Shi in a statement. The Pi wireless charger is expected to cost around $200.
